General Information

Moshi Town is on the Tanga Line, to the north of Tanzania. It is the administrative headquarters of Kilimanjaro Region, situated at the foot of the mighty Kilimanjaro Mountain, the tallest mountain in Africa, with a snow-capped peak.

Railway History and Operations.

Construction of Tanga Railway Line reached Moshi in 1911, during German Rule in Tanganyika. (1883-1919). The railway distance from Moshi to Tanga and Dar es Salaam is 351km and 558km respectively. Main features at Moshi include:
