Kidatu Line

Kilosa- Kidatu Branch Line, commonly called Kidatu Line, branches from the Central Line at Kilosa and runs southward, terminating at Kidatu. Its construction started at Kilosa in 1958 and reached Kidatu in 1965. The distance covered by Kidatu Line is 107.69km. The railway line and Kidatu terminus constitute a very important transshipment link between the Tanzania Railways Corporation system and the Tanzania Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) system. This arrangement provides a convenient and seamless link for international railway traffic in the whole region between South Africa and the East African countries.
