TRC OPERATIONS 2007
Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) expects to transport 810,700 tonnes of freight and 610,800 passengers in the year 2007. These was said in the 42nd Master Workers Council held at Mkonge hotel in Tanga at the ending of year 2006. During his presentation the Assistant Chief Commercial Manager for TRC Fuad Abdallah said that twenty (20) locomotive engines of 88 class and ten (10) of 73RXX class will be used for these purpose. However Mr Abdallah reveal that the said ten locomotive engines of 73RXX class is only equivalent to four engines of 88 class capacity. He further reveals that fifty five(55) passenger coaches and 1103 goods wagons are going to be used for transportation of passenger and freight respectively.
TRC TO TRAIN 1133 STAFF THE YEAR 2007.
Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) expects to use the total of Tshs 132.98M
and 4,840USD to train its staff in the year 2007. These were said by chief of
manpower development and administration Beatrice Rusibamayila in the 42nd master
workers council held at the year ending 2006. She said that 1133 staff would
be trained using the above-mentioned amount of money. She said that 915 staff
would be trained at Tabora and Morogoro Railway College while 655 staff will
undergo special training. However Mrs Rusibamayila revealed that the training
programme would be conducted depending on TRC earnings and priorities in the
skills needs. She also said that TRC would conduct seminars on HIV/AIDS sensitisation
to its staff.
